SEDGEFIELD ISLAND CONSERVANCY is part of the unique Cape Floral Kingdom, part of an ecosystem that has been recognized internationally as a World Heritage Site.

OUR VISION IS:

• To promote environmental awareness among the residents and visitors on The Island.
• To enhance The Island’s conservation status as well as improve its aesthetic and economic value.
• To protect and maintain the existing ecosystems.
• To promote and increase areas of indigenous plants and trees and to eradicate invasive alien vegetation.
• Establishing a community project to share the management of the environment.
• To protect the bird and animal wildlife of The Island.
